The Literature
In this section of Project 47 you will find the associated literature to go with each of the four project sites.
In selecting the literature, the convenors have sought materials which don’t necessarily speak directly to the site as either an institution, a building or a social or historical entity – these are all things which as graduates you will have no problem finding yourself. Rather, the material you will find for each site in these pages have been chosen for their ability to speak to the political and to take theory ‘for a walk’. That is, they have been chosen to extend your thinking of each site beyond the purely instrumental, practical or even artistic; they are there to help you make links between the realm of the aesthetic and that of politics.
Each project site has a number of corresponding articles or book chapters assigned to it, but these are not in any way to indicate that they should be kept separate or discrete – often it is the connections we make between seemingly unrelated things that produces the best work. Due to copyright reasons these pages are necessarily password protected; their content only available to students enrolled in the MA in Art and Politics at Goldsmiths.
