Nearly fifty artists, poets, and activists examine the contemporary prison system through heartrending art and community

Through my random research, I found this article about a prison’s project took place in the US few years ago. I thought the following statement is interesting:

our aim was to illuminate the simple fact that prison impacts all of us and is a principle part of our democracy. Utilizing the unique role that art can play, we asked questions, instigated dialogue, and related stories that articulate the complexity of the issues. Our hope was to provide openings for deeper understanding, positive change, community-building, and outreach to people and communities across the state who are most deeply affected.”
